The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, predominant sources of sports news in Catalonia, announced on Monday that if the striker wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for Barcelona, harsh conditions must be met:

  1. Neymar needs to convince PSG to let him go
  2. He must publicly ask for forgiveness to have left “Barça” in 2017
  3. Furthermore, he needs to drop the R$113 million lawsuit against the club
  4. And, last but not least, he needs to lower his annual salary by R$61 (US$15.5) million

According to the figures released by the newspaper, Neymar earns R$156.5 million per year at PSG – around €36 million per year. To play for Barcelona, he would have to accept a pay cut and earn €22 million, precisely what he was getting when he left the Spanish club in 2017.

Also, according to Mundo Deportivo, the negotiation is being handled directly by the president of “Barça”, Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Despite the Spanish club’s public interest, PSG states it has no intention of negotiating the player’s sale.
