RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Out of Copa América due to an injury and amid troubled days off the field, Neymar is still news for his on-field skills.

One of Spain’s leading newspapers, “Mundo Deportivo”, points out that Real Madrid will propose €130 million (R$560 million, US$145 million) to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the player, in addition to including a heavyweight player in the negotiation, possibly Gareth Bale or James Rodríguez.

The Spanish club may have in mind offering €30 million (R$130 million) per year in salary to the Brazilian player.

Neymar’s priority is still Barcelona, a club where he earned distinction in European football by being part of the attacking trio with Messi and Suarez.

Catalonia’s “Sport” also features Neymar on its cover. However, the newspaper reports that the striker does not wish to return to Paris to play for PSG. The player had already announced his intention to the French club president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Last Monday, according to “France Football” magazine, the president declared that he would no longer tolerate athletes with a “pop star behavior” and he was harsh in analyzing the future of Neymar in the team, saying that “no one forced him to sign for the club.”

“I want players willing to give their all to defend the honor of the jersey and be part of the project. Naturally, some contracts must be respected, but the priority now is full adherence to our project. (…) Nobody forced him (Neymar) to sign for the club. He came here fully aware of taking part in a project,” he said.

This Wednesday, June 19th, newspaper “Le Parisien” disclosed that PSG had set a price to negotiate Neymar: €300 million (R$1.3 billion). The French aim to recover the amount paid to Barcelona in 2017, when they disbursed €222 million (R$824 million) and turned the Brazilian into the most expensive player in the history of soccer.

In two years with PSG, Neymar has twice won the French Championship, a French League Cup, a French Super Cup, and a French Cup. In the Champions League, PSG failed to make it past the Round of 16. On both occasions, however, Neymar did not play with team as a result of a serious injury.
