Karol Conka @ Circo Voador (Lapa) – Come and hear some of the best contemporary Brazilian rap and pop tonight with a special live collaboration on the Circo Voador stage between Karol Conka and Xênia França.

Prepare to see the always-flamboyant Conka light up the stage with songs from her latest album ‘Ambulante,’ while Xênia França’s original blend of pop, electrona, jazz, samba-reggae, rock and r’n’b is sure to get your feet moving.

Tickets are available from R$50 and the performance should start at 11PM.

PARTY:
RockBash #12 @ Casa da Matriz (Botafogo) – Drinking and tattoos don’t immediately sound like the best combination, but at the RockBash in Casa da Matriz, anything goes! Come and dance your socks off to the best rock music in all its forms (grunge, punk, ska etc.) and then head on upstairs for Karaokêzin and sing some rock karaoke at the top of your lungs.

Don’t forget the special easter chocolate treats and of course tattoo artist Carolina Gomes is bringing her flash tattoos to the party for anyone who wants to commemorate their night in the most rock ‘n’ roll of fashions.

Tickets are between R$15 – R$20 and the night starts at 11:30PM.

Then head down to Rio’s stunning Museum of Art where Digitaldubs will present the hits of Gilberto Gil, including their collaboration ‘Refavela.’

Don’t miss out on this party which will also feature the vocal talents of Larissa Luz, who positions herself somewhere between afrofuturism, afropunk and MPB.

LOUNGES, BARS & PUBS:

Bartman (Flamengo)
This eccentric boteco does everything right. With great Brazilian bar food, excellent beer and a loyal crowd, Bartman also sets itself apart from the competition with its mad decor of kitschy comic book regalia. Try the carne de sol with fried aipim for a real hearty treat.
Bartman – 9AM
Rua Buarque de Macedo, 83 – Flamengo – Tel: (21) 2558-6913
Entrance: FREE

Casa da Cachaça (Lapa)
This cultural heritage site of Rio de Janeiro was the first cachaçaria to open in the city, back in 1960. And by the looks of things, they’ve been busy ever since, with over 200 cachaças piled up the walls and hanging from the ceiling. The regular caipirinhas here are great value and pack a punch. For an interesting twist, try a flavoured shot, such as the açaí-infused cachaça.
Casa da Cachaça – 4PM
Av. Mem de Sá, 110A – Lapa – Tel:(21) 2531-7219
Entrance: FREE

Void/House of Food (Botafogo)
Blending culinary, drinks, and fashion, the bar/store invites a different chef to prepare a new menu every week. Besides great imported beer labels, there is delicious veggie food and homemade burgers.
Void Botafogo – 11 AM
Rua Voluntários da Pátria, 31 – Botafogo – Tel: (21) 3593=3326
Entrance: FREE
