Rio Nightlife Guide for Tuesday, February 26, 2019

The Rio Times, Nightlife Guide, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nightlife, Bars, Clubs, Parties

We have the top three picks for this Tuesday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

LIVE:
Aos Novos Compositores @ Beco do Rato (Lapa) – This cultural project for new composers is an evening where sambistas can present previously unpublished work of their own. This is an exciting evening of live music from some of the best young samba composers in the city.

It takes place twice per month, always on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. And the event aims to support the local samba music scene by showing works by composers who are not (yet) big samba stars.

The event is free entry and it usually begins at 8PM.

Aos Novos Compositores – Rua Joaquim Silva – Lapa

For more information, check out the event page.

PARTY:
Dobradinha @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – This is a special pre-Carnival edition of the ever-popular Dobradinha club night. This evening promises DJ sets from Team Dobradinha plus Carol Soares, Gui Serrano and Igor Kelner.

There will, of course, be all the usual deals, such as free pizza, two-for-one on Jagermeister, promotions on Heineken, plus a caipifruta open bar from 11:30PM to 12:30AM.

Tickets are between R$20-R$50 and the night should get going at 11:30PM.

Dobradinha – Rua Siqueira Campos, 143 – Copacabana

LIVE:
Cria @ Manouche Club (Jardim Botanico) – “Cria” is the name of the monthly meeting in which Leonardo Lichote, a music journalist for O Globo newspaper, talks to an artist about their creative endeavours, on-stage at Manouche, the intimate club in the basement of Casa Camolese.

The conversation is interspersed with songs from the invited artist’s back catalogue. This month it is the turn of Martinho da Vila, one of the most prolific and influential samba and MPB composers. In the conversation of “Cria”, he will open up about his methods of composition, his background and influences, as well as his partnership with samba school Vila Isabel – all illustrated with songs, in an evening which is bound to delight both fans and newcomers alike.

The evening begins at 9PM and tickets are between R$30-R$60.

Cria – Rua Jardim Botanico, 983 – Jardim Botanico
