LIVE:
Roda do Teles @ Arco do Teles (Centro) – This Sunday will not only be the debut of a new samba group, ‘Samba Chegou’ featuring Thiago Torres, Wagner Silveira, Daniel Boechat, and Raphael Lagoas, but will also feature a live appearance from one of the all-time legends of samba, Paulinho da Viola.

This free event should get going at 6PM and is sure to be a treat for all fans of traditional Braziliam music.

Jazz Sunset @ Bar dos Descasados (Santa Teresa) – Sunday’s sunset sessions at Bar dos Descasados are a great way to toast to the weekend. Plus, if people want a discount drink before the music, from 5PM to 6PM there is a double round of gin & tonics!

This Sunday the live music is a mix of afrobeat and swing from the guitar maestro André Sampaio, an unmissable presentation of Brazilian music, tracing its roots from the African and diaspora sounds.

The live music starts at 6PM.

Trio Frito @ Bar do Nanam (Centro) – Live music at Bar do Nanam courtesy of the Trio Frito, plus DJ sets to take the party up a level and into the next morning.

Trio Frito are a raw band, influenced by sixties legends such as as Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Chuck Berry, Jeff Beck and Pink Floyd. From this base, the Trio finds a musical terrain ripe for musical reconstructions, improvisations and adventures.

In a short period of time, the have already counted Rock in Rio 2017 as one of their showstopping performances. After the live concert, there will be DJ sets from special guest DJs.

This event is free but Bar do Nanam politely request that patrons buy their drinks from the bar and contribute to the musicians’ hat that will be passed around. The music should start at 10PM.

Sunday afternoon drinking whilst eating salgadinhos and watching the sunset at Bar Urca is a regular pastime in Rio de Janeiro. This simple establishment on the bayside has been a hit since 1939.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Just around the corner from Posto 9, Blue Agave Ipanema is also known for its mostly English-speaking staff and the international crowd which frequents the establishment. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
