We have the top three picks for this Wednesday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

LIVE:
Samba Vicente & Convidados @ Beco do Rato (Lapa) – Samba Vicente is a ‘roda da samba’ (samba circle) commanded by the musician and singer Leandro Vicente. A member of the new generation of samba musicians, Vicente will present an eclectic repertoire, which goes from Zeca Pagodinho to Chico Buarque, while also inviting some special guests to join him.

Gabriela Pasche, who is considered one of the most outstanding voices of the new generation of samba, promises to bring a mix of classic and contemporary compositions, and even some of her own, for what promises to be an unforgettable show. Samba da Gabi is an irresistible force, and it is impossible not to sing, dance, and feel the happiness that emanates from the stage and infects everyone.

This evening of music begins at 7PM and costs between R$15-R$20.

PARTY:
Latin Party @ Pub Kriok (Lapa) – The original party that brought reggaeton to Rio is always a sure bet to kick some energy and attitude into the midweek.

The night is free and has an open bar of beer and caipirinha until midnight. What more could a party need? How about some drinking games, random shots, and dance-offs? DJ Slim and DJ Muchacho Malo plus VJ Rafael C are going to be taking over two floors of Pub Kriok and pumping out some of the finest reggaeton, funk and pop all through the night.

On the first floor will be reggaeton, latin pop, world music, hiphop, pop and much more. On the second floor will be merengue, trance, salsa, funk and a whole lot more Miami-style rhythms. After midnight there is a two-for-one offer on caipirinha and catuaba. There will be great photographers capturing the magic, LED light shows, excellent air-conditioning over three floors. This is a night that will go on for a long time (eight years running so far).

The night starts at 11PM and entry is R$20 all night.

LIVE:
Sexteto Sucupira @ Fundição Progresso (Lapa) – This evening is a chance to experience the forró jazz gypsy sounds of Sexteto Sucupira. The sound of Sexteto Sucupira can be seen as a rich musical journey through the melodies of the world with Brazil as a starting point, their sound is sometimes in the North of Brazil, sometimes in the Caribbean, sometimes in the Middle East.

Their repertoire mixes traditions from various parts of the world with compositions by famous Brazilian composers, as well as original, contemporary creations from the band members themselves. This is a perfect place to dance and meet new people while enjoying some top-quality live music. After the band, Egil DJ will be playing the best afrobeat, latin, forró, soul and jazz, to keep you on your feet until the early hours.

Tickets are between R$10-R$15 and the night gets going at 10PM.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Blue Agave in Ipanema is a great place for Mexican food, strong drinks and watching the latest domestic and international sports. They have English-speaking staff and is a popular expat hangout in Ipanema. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.

Flashback (Ipanema)
Flashback is a high-end restaurant with plenty of classical music and photos decorating the walls. Tonight, between 7PM and 9PM the restaurant will serve a happy hour with two for one on caipivodkas and Stella Artois. The caipivodkas are made fresh with either lime, strawberry or passionfruit as well as additional herbs added in for a taste explosion.
