LIVE:
Jorge Ben Jor e Mano Brown @ Fundição Progresso (Lapa) – With a unparalleled back catalogue of hits that stretch throughout the sixties, seventies and eighties, fusing elements that bring together the roots of the Brazilian and African people, and with a unique smooth delivery, Jorge Ben Jor will be gracing the Fundição Progresso stage in Lapa tonight for a night of music with his new pal, Mano Brown.

Mano Brown will be presenting his new project: Boogie Naipe. His solo work, unlike his rap career, brings with it influences of American soul and funk from the 80’s, for what is set to be a unique experience for both the rapper and the crowd.

Tickets are available from R$140 and the show kicks off at 9PM.

PARTY:
O Tradicional Halloween @ Bar Bukowski (Botafogo) – If you’ve been waiting the whole year for this night, then Bar Bukowski is the right place to go. Time to get your craziest costume out and shake your skeleton to the sound of rock and roll.

At this eleventh edition of their traditional Halloween party, the bar will have makeup artists to turn you into real monsters and a ‘best costume’ contest with prizes of R$1000, R$500 and R$250 for the winners to spend at the bar.

The night starts at 6:30PM for Happy Hour until 8:30PM where you do not pay entrance. There will be double helpings of imported beer and gin and tonics until 10PM and karaoke with a band until 10:30PM plus a liquid dose of ̶v̶o̶d̶k̶a̶ courage and another prize of R$200 for the best singer of the night.

Normal entry is between R$35-R$50 and the night will get going at 6:30PM.

Baile da Democracia @ Circo Voador (Lapa) – On the eve of the elections that will define the next president of the country, Circo Voador invites the public to celebrate one of the richest assets of Brazil: its music!

The ‘Baile da Democracia’ (Democracy Ball) brings together Moyseis Marques, Julia Vargas, 13.7 and DJs Franz and Cyro and Vj Mouse. Brazilian music in its multiple possibilities and facets awaits you in the legendary Circo Voador.

Tickets are R$30-R$80 and the party gets going at 10PM.

Winehouse (Botafogo)
Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat that has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national wines and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those that aren’t too keen on wine, there is plenty of beer and cocktail options too. Happy hour begins at 5PM and finishes at 8PM.

Void/House of Food (Botafogo)
Blending culinary, drinks and fashion, the bar/store invites a different chef to prepare a new menu every week. Besides great imported beer labels, it usually serves delicious veggie food and homemade burgers.

Pavão Azul (Copacabana)
Pavão Azul is a lively bar in Copacabana, famous for its exceptionally cold beers and prawn pastels. It gets crowded there every night, making every day of the week seem like the weekend.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Blue Agave Ipanema is always a great place for Mexican food, drinks and for watching live sport streams and broadcasts. Just around the corner from Posto 9, the bar is also known for its mostly English-speaking staff and crowd which frequents the establishment. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
