RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This Wednesday, October 17th, the American-led Italian dance troupe ‘Evolution Dance Theater’ will perform their latest touring show, ‘Night Garden,’ at Rio’s prestigious ‘Theatro Municipal’ (Municipal Theater).
Founded by American dancer Anthony Heinl and based in Rome, Italy, Evolution Dance Theater is an exciting dance group whose pioneering fusion of art, science, acrobatics and illusion create a spectacle that is truly like no other.
The company has been successfully touring the world for seven years, entertaining audiences with their unique performances; while at the same time they have also created shows for the ‘Accademia Internazionale Coreutica Firenze’ (The National Ballet Company in Florence), Italy’s Got Talent, and Disney Cruise Lines.
‘Night Garden,’ their new show, is all about how things are not as they seem. Dance, magic, and cutting-edge technology come together in a visually fascinating spectacle. The performance aims to capture those fantastical moments that occur when the day gives way to night, transforming the landscape and playing tricks on our perceptions.
Founded in 2008, Evolution Dance Theater set about creating shows that combined both imagination, athleticism and striking visual sensations – with the great strength of the company being their devotion to pushing the limits of dance to extend into other art forms such as video art, illusion, and the inventive use of lights and special live effects.
Anthony Heinl, their American founder and principal choreographer, is always keen to experiment with new materials and different elements to give their stage show its otherworldly magic. Arriving at Rio’s historic Municipal Theater, in the city’s historic center, their aim is to keep the audience constantly engaged and amazed with a spectacular show that is sure to entertain all ages.
