We have the top three picks for this Sunday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

LIVE:
Manouche Carioca @ NOSSO Ipanema (Ipanema) – Manouche Carioca are guitarist Yuval Ben Lior, an Israeli based in Rio de Janeiro, guitarist Sergio Velasco and bassist Thiago di Sabbato.

They play gypsy-style jazz made famous by guitarist Django Reinhardt. In the last year Manouche have performed at more than eighty concerts, among them the opening of the concert of the consecrated Elza Soares at the Copacabana Palace Hotel.

Now always on the penultimate Sunday of each month, they will be performing at NOSSO with a different guest each time. This Sunday the guest will be the English trumpeter, Tom Ashe.

Entrance is free and the venue opens at 6PM.

PARTY:
DNA Social Club @ Barzin Rio (Ipanema) – DNA Social Club is the new club for Sundays at Barzin. The weekend doesn’t end until this event does.

From 9PM onwards their second floor lounge will open up where you can enjoy a great drink while listening to some deep house to get you into the mood for the evening. DJ Guilherme Quintanilha will be DJing on the second floor.

Then from 11PM onwards, the party will continue to the third floor, a totally covered and air conditioned environment, where DJs Fernando Castilho, DJ Léo Monteiro, DJ Nicole Antunes, DJ Guilherme St, and DJ Rogério Mussel Júnior will be spinning the best tunes until dawn.

This week they have a special ‘buy early’ drinks offer, where if you buy a drink you get another free DNA drink. This offer runs until midnight.

Entrance is between R$20-R$40.

LIVE:
Jair Naves @ Audio Rebel (Botafogo) – Finishing his third solo album, scheduled for release in 2019, Jair Naves returns to Audio Rebel to present some of the new compositions as well as songs from his previous albums.

The band accompanying him is formed by Renato Ribeiro (guitar), Rob Ashtoffen (bass) and Lucas Melo (drums).

Tickets are R$20 in advance and R$25 on the door, and the night should get going at 7:30PM.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Just around the corner from Posto 9, Blue Agave Ipanema is also known for its mostly English-speaking staff and the international crowd which frequents the establishment. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
