The Rio Times, Nightlife Guide, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nightlife, Bars, Clubs, Parties

We have the top three picks for this Thursday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

PARTY:
BomBástic Hits @ Pub Kriok (Lapa) – Three floors and two dancefloors with all the hits from Brazilian funk and international pop.

Featuring DJ Slim, DJ Gabriel Velmont, and VJ Rafael.

There will be a dance team, a tequila team handing out free shots and pours, plus free caipirinha until midnight.

DJ Slim will be playing funk, reggaeton, pop, rap and trap.

DJ Gabriel Velmont will serve out pop, dance, hiphop, reggaeton, and lots of funk.

The night gets going at 11PM and costs R$20.

BomBástic Hits – Avenida Mem de Sá, 65 – Lapa

LIVE:
Beach Combers @ Zion Botafogo (Botafogo) – Beach Combers are not exactly a common type of trio. Bernar Gomma (guitar), Paulo Emmery (bass) and Lucas Leão (drums) mix the sound of surf music’s guitars with the garage noise of the sixties.

All this without appearing or sounding like a nostalgia band.

Their new album “Beach Attack” (LP, CD and K7) was released and digitally distributed by Deck Disc Label. The trio was also featured as the opening act for the Rolling Stones, Queens Of The Stone Age, Foo Fighters at Maracanã, Marky Ramone at Imperator, Erasmo Carlos, Barão Vermelho, among others.

They also recently played with Zak Starkey (son of Ringo Star and drummer of The Who) on the boardwalk in Ipanema.

This should be a great night of music for all those alternative rock fans out there.
