We have the top three picks for this Saturday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

PARTY:
La Cumbia @ Pedra do Sal (Gamboa) – This Saturday it’s all about bringing your friends along to Pedra do Sal for a huge street party to celebrate Brazil’s independence holiday.

This is a street party, with the sounds of cumbia, reggaeton, salsa and many other latin beats. Expect plenty of maracas and barrel drums.

The musical entertainment will be provided by Raoni Mouchoque (CLAPS), Kajaman (La Cumbia), and Radio Rua (La Cumbia)

For anyone new to cumbia, this meeting of musicians, DJs and lovers of cumbia will be celebrating it in all its musical diversity. The party will be mixing sounds from Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile and other countries neighboring Brazil.

The party starts at 11PM and, like always, is free!

Tributo a Lynyrd Skynyrd @ Lapa Irish Pub (Lapa) – Lapa’s most charming Irish pub will be hosting Rio’s first ever Lynyrd Skynyrd band, bringing the sounds of sweet home Alabama to the Cidade Maravilhosa!

The show starts at 10PM and tickets are R$15 until 10PM and R$20 after.

PARTY:
Rock Anos 80 @ Bar Bukowski (Botafogo) – On Saturday, in honor of the music of the eighties, Bar Bukowski presents one of the best known tributes to The Police in Brazil with the band The Badcops.

In addition, there will be a treasure hunt with clues and one of them gives a prize of R$5,000!

In addition to the tribute, their resident DJs promise to spin the best of rock with unforgettable playlists from the eighties.

Anyone who was at the bar on Thursday or Friday doesn’t have to pay entry and gets a free shot!

Finally, in commemoration of International Journalist’s Day, journalists do not pay entry until 11:59PM.
