We have the top three picks for this Monday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

PARTY:
Subcena#9 @ Audio Rebel (Botafogo) – André Capilé and Chacal appear live at Audio Rebel for an evening of experimental performance poetry.

Chacal will present a new composition on the stage of Audio Rebel for this ninth edition of Subcena, next to the musical experimenter Barrão, one of the components of Chelpa Ferro, a multimedia electronic group.

To open the night, André Capilé, a rising start of the Brazilian poetic scene, presents his poems accompanied by the inventive creators of BeatBass High Tech, a group dedicated to the percussive potential of music.

Chacal (Ricardo de Carvalho Duarte) born in Rio de Janeiro in 1951, is a poet, chronicler, lyricist and one of the forerunners of marginal poetry.

Since 1990, he has been in charge of CEP 20,000 – Poetic Experimentation Center, which holds monthly multimedia events in Rio de Janeiro. His poetry is collected in the volume Belvedere (2007), and in 2010 he published ‘Uma História à Margem’ (A History on the Edge) an autobiographical novel.

The evening starts at 8PM and tickets are R$20.

Subcena#9 – Visconde de Silva, 55 – Botafogo

PARTY:
Sarrada System @ Caipi 373 Bar (Lapa) – Monday is the day of the zouk party with Sarrada System at Caipi 373 Bar in Rio’s nightlife neighborhood of Lapa.

For those who are new to zouk, it’s a musical style originating from the Caribbean with a fast jump-up carnival beat, and so it’s the perfect soundtrack to a night filled with dancing and fun.

To get you in the mood, the first caipirinha is on the house!

There will also be four DJ sets, featuring Dilson, who will be playing lots of zouk – Dilson has been DJing for more than twenty years, so expect some nostalgia too: classics that moved the dancefloor from the nineties to the noughties to now.

Fellipe Brandão is up next, the guy who plays the tracks that makes the place pump. This is music that is guaranteed to make you dance. Then there is Zen Eyer, the DJ with charm and charisma, expect more popular tunes to fill the dancefloor.

Finally Arknjo, who is controversial, daring, brave and/or crazy. Arknjo brings new trends, which mix funk, zouk, kizomba, bass, trap and even Lebanese fusion, and makes the dancefloor overheat every week.

The party will be in Lapa’s newest space, #CAIPI373. The house is a cool space to dance, with a great sound system, friendly service and drinks prices which are among the most affordable in Lapa.

The night starts at 9PM and tickets are from between R$10-R$20.

Sarrada System – Avenida Gomes Freire, 373 – Lapa

PARTY:
The Glow Party! @ New Mariuzinn (Copacabana) – This is the Monday night party in Rio’s famous Copacabana neighborhood, with free caipirinhas until midnight, random tequila shots, and special promotions on beers and vodka energy drinks.

The music for the night will feature a live samba act. Then DJ Caue Campean, the resident DJ, will be spinning some house, hiphop and reggaeton, followed by DJ Dluccio who will spin everything from pop, to trap, to deep house.

If you’re looking for an upscale, big club experience, this promises to be the ticket. The dancefloor will be immersed in black light and they will be handing out everything from glow paint to glow bracelets and much more.

Two DJs, two floors, and only one block away from Copacabana beach. What better way to go wild on a Monday night?

The Glow Party! – Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, 435 – Copacabana
