The Rio Times, Nightlife Guide, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nightlife, Bars, Clubs

We have the top three picks for this Friday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

PARTY:
Bye Bye Dr. Dunks @ Comuna (Humaitá) – DJ Eric ‘Dunks’ Duncan has lots of stories to tell, with over a thirty-year career as DJ and producer. He is now moving from Rio to Bali and so Comuna have invited the maestro to do a long farewell set. This is a great opportunity to hear the stories of this worldwide dance music icon told by the man himself.

Debuting on the New York electronic scene, Eric Duncan first gained fame with his duo Rug N Tug and remixes from artists such as Todd Terje, LCD Soundsystem and The Beastie Boys. His productions have been published on labels from different corners of the world, and around here, he has skillfully commanded the demanding dancefloors of MOO and Wild.

Dr. Dunks has lain strong roots in Rio during the years he lived here, deep as the friendship and musical partnership he has with his guests tonight: Badenov, resident DJ of MOO; and Rodrigo Peirão, half of the Balako project.

The night is taking place at the intimate new ‘Dama de Aço’ (Lady of Steel) club that has just opened its doors in Humaitá. This should be an unforgettable night for any fans of electronic music.

Tickets are between R$15-R$25 and the night should get going around midnight.
