One of the favorite Saturday programs among Cariocas, the “Feira do Lavradio” returns to Lapa with a World Cup themed edition, photo internet recreation.

Popularly known as “Feira do Lavradio”, the “Rio Antigo” street market attracts diverse Carioca audiences every edition. Gathering over 400 stalls, which are spread along the entire Rua do Lavradio street, the fair stands out as an important landmark of Rio’s cultural landscape.

At this edition, Feira do Lavradio will make everyone get into the World Cup mood, hosting various stalls that will be selling World Cup themed handicrafts, clothing articles and accessories. As usual, the fair will also include a flea market with rare home decor items and vintage objects.

Ahead of Rio Antigo’s musical lineup will be the Trio Ustrês. Performing at the Emilinha Borba square at 4:30 PM, the group will celebrate the month of “Festa Junina” (traditional festivity from Northeastern Brazil) with a repertoire of “forró pé de serra” music, including Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos, Sivuca, Jackson do Pandeiro and Gordurinha.

Along Rua do Lavradio, visitors can also find a couple of food stands, and bars and restaurants will be open throughout the day, like the sea food house Mangue Seco and Casa Momus, which serves Mediterranean food and great beer labels.

Organized by the “Polo Novo Rio Antigo” Association since 1997, the “Feira do Lavradio” happens every first Saturday of the month, attracting around 20,000 visitors every edition.
