Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight, Palaphita Gávea will invite guest DJ Silvio Rio, from DJ collective Arca de Nóe to take over for the evening.
Known for his mashups of hip hop, trap, indie and deep house, the DJ will be spinning until late into the night at the legendary Rio club.
There will also be plenty of the biggest classics from pop, black, Latin music until the early hours. Those reserving a spot to celebrate their birthdays will be given Tropical Tanqueray (a mix of gin and Red Bull tropical).

Tonight, Bar Bukowski will host the Dia da Mentira party from 9PM, bringing the best of funk in a changeup from its usual mix of indie, punk, and rock and roll. Promising loud music, plenty of speakers and music to make you want to dance passinho, there is also free entry for guests who celebrate their birthdays this week, as well as for public school teachers.

Kicking off the night at Rio Scenarium, samba singer Adriana Dutra will perform at 7:30 PM, followed by Arruda at 10:30 PM with the best MBP and samba. Banda JPG will also play at 10:30 PM, bringing the best of Brazilian pop and rock with a healthy dose of MBP. Resident DJ Marcello Sabre will spin the best of Brazilian dance tracks from midnight in the main room, while Forró à Três will bring forró to the Anexo from 3AM.

It’s time again for Lapafest at Leviano bar tonight. Singer Lucas de Moraes will start off the night on the first floor performing a roda de samba with well-known samba classics. DJs Aílton Area and Cauê will be spinning the best of samba, funk, hip hop and electronic. The band Johnny’s will also be there performing the best tracks from the international rock scene.
