Sunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick
– Hip-hop fans are in for a treat with the return of Baile dos Panteras Negras to Lapa tonight. Featuring guest DJs from Rio-based record labels Badboy Records and Death Row Records, the event promises to play some of the best underground rap and hip-hop from Brazil and around the world.

With DJs Mestre LP, Kong, Julio Rodrigues and Xokolaty playing from 9PM until the early hours, Baile dos Panteras Negras will keep visitors dancing all night. Entrance is R$5 for women and R$10 for men, with an obligatory donation of one kilogram of non-perishable food.

Hocus Pocus Festival 2017  (Centro)
Popular craft brewers Hocus Pocus will bring a crowd together for the Rio de Janeiro edition of their 2017 festival. With limited edition beers being prepared especially for the event, there will also be live performances from bands Samsara Blues Experiment, Psilocibina and Aura performing rock, punk and metal tracks from their latest records.

Lapa’s Febarj venue hosts a night of underground hip-hop with two of Rio state’s premium record labels. DJs from Badboy Records and Death Row Records will spin the best of Brazilian and international rap and underground from 9PM until the early hours of the morning.

It’s time to dance as singer Rogê returns for his weekly show at Lapa’s Carioca de Gema. The lively performer will bring the best of samba through his own works and his versions of Jorge, Jorge Ben, Djavan, among others.

Mais que Nada (Copacabana)
A cuban themed bar in Copacabana, Mais que Nada serves good tapas-style meals, cold beers and an excellent selection of cocktails and shots. Tonight, they will host the after-beach party. Promotions will include double shots on caipirinhas, caipivodkas and mojitos until 12AM.
