Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight, Palphita Gávea will host the Volta, Carnaval! party with DJ collective DPP Diretoria headlining.
Playing a mix of house and the biggest international pop hits, the night promises to keep visitors bumping with the help of DJs Rapha Fernandes, Silvio Rio and Luckas.

Tonight, Bar Bukowski will host the A Mulher Mais Linda da Cidade party. For the week of International Women’s Day, Bar Bukowski has teamed up with with NGO Think Olga, which fights sexual harassment in public spaces and will be selling items from clothing companies Camisa Dimona and Tulli.me, with profits for the evening going to the NGO. Bar Bukowski will play its usual mix of rock and roll throughout the evening and guests who will celebrate their birthday this week don’t pay entry – so be sure to let the venue know!

Tonight, Fosfobox will host the St. Patrick’s Day party with a special edition of punk party Crush!. Promotions will include free Heineken for the first hundred arrivals, and there is discounted entry for anyone wearing green or with names on the guest list. Crush! DJs Beto Artista, Sal, Mateus and Jef will be spinning punk, rock and pop-rock hits throughout the night.

Tonight, Palaphita will host Volta, Carnaval! party, with special guests DPP Diretoria. With live DJs playing house, dance and pop throughout the night, DJs Rapha Fernandes, Silvio Rio and Luckas will join DPP Diretoria for a a night which promises to bring back a Carnival atmosphere.

Kicking off the night at Rio Scenarium, samba singer Nuno Netto will perform at 7:30 PM followed by fellow sambista Nelson Felix at 10:30 PM. Blood Mary & the Munsters will bring their blend of rockabilly and classic hits in the Anexo from 10PM, singing hits from Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Etta James to Madonna, Lady Gaga and Pharrell Williams. Resident DJ Marcello Sabre will spin the best of Brazilian dance tracks from midnight in the main room, while Massarico do Acordeon will bring forró to the Anexo from 2:30 AM.

Samba singer Marina Iris will star tonight at Carioca da Gema, with renditions of samba classics by Paulo Vanzolini, João Nogueira, Cartola, Dorival Caymmi, Nássara, Pedro Caetano and Mario Lago. She will also perform songs from her 2014 album.

It’s time again for Lapafest at Leviano bar tonight. Singer Lucas de Moraes will start off the night on the first floor performing a roda de samba with well-known samba classics. DJs Aílton Area and Cauê will be spinning the best of samba, funk, hip hop and electronic. The band Johnny’s will also be there performing the best tracks from the international rock scene.
