RIO DE JANERIO, BRAZIL – On Thursday, November 17th, The American School, or Escola Americana do Rio de Janeiro (EARJ) is hosting an “Evening With The Arts” in collaboration with their PTA. The event is hosted at the U.S. Consul General’s residence in Rio to help raise funds for the EARJ 80th Anniversary Auditorium Project.

The event will also include performances by the EARJ choir and the Kay Lyra band, in addition to an art exhibition that will showcase selected art pieces from EARJ Middle School students.

The purpose of the event is to help fund the project of renovating the EARJ’s auditorium, the creative space for students at the school. “The art-filled evening was inspired by the project itself,” shares Beatriz Pontes, the marketing and events coordinator for EARJ, exclusively to The Rio Times.

“The EARJ Auditorium is a place where students can highlight their talents in drama, music, choir and art. It is a learning space where the EARJ Community comes together in celebration of our student’s achievements.”

The American School auditorium renovation seeks to add comfortable seating for over three hundred people, acoustic wall treatments and systems for climate control, sound and lighting, all following an environmentally conscious design.

During the evening, there will also be a silent auction and raffle. Each confirmed guest is automatically placed into the raffle to have the chance of winning an extraordinary piece of jewelry by renowned designer, Antonio Bernando.

The event will be held at the U.S. Consulate General residence and promises to be a fun and exciting event that simultaneously contributes to the future educational facilities of the school’s students. “It will be an evening where the EARJ Community will be able to enjoy a student-produced art exhibition, cocktails and a Silent Auction,” reveals Beatriz.

“Names like Antonio Bernardo, Amsterdam Sauer, Fasano Hotel, CT Boucherie amongst other prestigious ones have partnered with us to make this an amazing experience.”

There will not be physical tickets nor will there be sales of tickets on the evening of the event. For ticket sales email [email protected] and upon purchase, attendees will be added to the confirmed guest list.
