Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – ArtRio 2016 is back in Rio de Janeiro. After the success of last year’s event, ArtRio has established itself as one of the world’s most important events in the art scene. This year it will bring together more than two thousand artists and approximately eighty galleries, representing both Brazilian and international art.
The exhibition starts today and will continue until Sunday, October 2nd. There will be both established and new artists’ work to check out as well as a garden of sculptures.

ArtRio 2016 is back in Rio in its sixth edition. One of the most important art events in the world, ArtRio 2016 will reunite two thousand artists and around eighty art galleries to showcase both international and national art, representing both new and established artists. Tonight, it’s time for the Girls Night Out party at the New Mariuzinn Copacabana. From 11PM until 12AM, there will be an open bar for women with SKYY vodka, beer, tropical drinks, sparkling wine, soda, water caipirinha, and additional mixed drinks including Sex on the Beach, Blue Lagoon, ScrewDriver, Cuba Libre. The Salsa and Forró party is back at Lapa’s Leviano bar tonight and that means it’s time to dance. The group Mano a Mano will start things off at 8PM on the first floor with their reinterpretations of works by Hector Lavoe, Willie Colón, Rubén Bládes, Ismael Rivera, Eddie Palmieri and Buena Vista Social Clube. On the second floor during the night, the group Xaxado Novo will perform the best forró. Additionally, DJ Angolano will spin salsa and DJ Darvyn Orlan will spin forró during show intervals.
