Rio dos Meus Olhos Event Returns on Saturday, March 5th

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Celebrating the city of Rio de Janeiro and its 451th anniversary, O Globo will present the second edition of the “Rio dos Meus Olhos” (Rio in My Eyes) event on Saturday, March 5th at the revitalized Praça Mauá in Centro. The event is free to the public and gives tribute to the city through art and technology.

The first edition of Rio dos Meus Olhos took place in the city’s Aterro do Flamengo. Reportedly attracting thousands of attendees the event was held to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the city.

Entertainment during this edition will include a performance by the dance company, Lumini Cia de Dança and visual projections from VJ Vigas. Also, photographs of Rio de Janeiro that were submitted to G1 by readers and viewers will be shown throughout the event.

Additionally, DJ MAM, known for his works “Oba Rio” ahd “Redentor,” the theme for the 80th anniversary of the famed Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) statue that sits on top of Corcovado, will spin during the event and DJ Nepal, known for his groove, soul, and electronic sets, will perform during the event.
