Veraneio Music Festival Continues Through March 26th

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Highlighting six of the best bands and artists in Brazilian independent music through a series of twelve shows at Oi Futuro Ipanema, the third edition of the Festival Veraneio will continue through March 26th. Each weekend, one of the six featured bands or artists will perform two shows on Friday and Saturday night.

The group Cidadão Instigado from the state of Ceará began the festival with two shows in support of their most recent album, Fortaleza, on the 19th and 20th and the Bahian band Maglore will present their newest album entitled, III, live on Friday, February 26th and Saturday, February 27th.

Influenced by Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Pink Floyd, and Queen, among others, Rio de Janeiro band, Dônica will perform on March 4th and 5th. São Paulo group Metá Metá will then follow on March 11th and 12th with their experimental music, which is influenced by rock, jazz, and Latin, African, and Brazilian rhythms.

On March 18th and 19th, singer-songwriter Sibá, a native of the state of Pernambuco, will perform works from his albums; 2012’s Avante and 2015’s De Baile Solto and the group Boogarins from the state of Goiás, will perform on March 25th and 26th to close out the festival.
