RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Sunday, November 1st, the popular fashion, food, art and music fair, O Cluster, returns to Casa da Glória to celebrate its third anniversary. The event will feature thirty brands, ten food vendors, DJs spinning, and family-friendly films being screened by the pool.
Created by the duo of Carolina Herszenhut, the designer behind Branchée, and independent content producer, Camila Félix, to showcase the work of Rio artisans and designers in a laid-back setting with good food and music, the first edition of O Cluster was held in November of 2012.
The fair has since become an established outlet for artists and artisans in the city and a popular event for those interested in fashion, food, and music. According to organizers, during the past three years, the fair has taken place twelve times, attracting more than 50,000 attendees with an average of 4,000 people per event.
Over the years, music has become a bigger part of the fair. “I realized that it was necessary to expand the event experience to include more of the musical universe,” Carolina Herszenhut, co-creator of O Cluster, said in a released statement. “It was then that we created a challenge for DJs: we asked them to play something very different from what they usually play at their parties, so that the public could know the breadth of the their musical knowledge and be amazed.”
Adding, “Parallel to this, we began the podcasts project where we interviewed the DJs so they could talk about their career paths, musical research and influences. I remember an issue where we invited Diogo Reis, of Moo, and he played Sade. It was amazing, because everyone thought he would play only electronic music!”
During Sunday’s edition, the DJs will be curated by Boca do Trombone and will include residents, Ícaro dos Santos and Nado Leal and guests Badenov, Bruno Queiroz and João Brasil.
Featured brands during this edition will include Augustana, Alana Ruas, El Phante, Flow, Velt and more. The gastronmy section will include Amélia Gastró, Atelier no Jardim, Baguel Store, Doe Predileto, Espirito de Porco, Namasté, and Sorvete Local.
“The idea,” said Herszenhut, “is that our three-year celebration will be a true family feast, as O Cluster has always been.”
