Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It promises to be a wild night with mead meeting tequila at Teatro Odisséia as the Lapa venue hosts both the Taverna Viking and TeKiller parties.
DJs Roberto Cruz, Thiago Tuao, and Will Rasputin will spin the best of folk, viking metal, Irish punk and hard rock on the Valhalla stage during the night while DJs Fernando Taro, Thiago Halleck, and Ingrid Gründig will spin the of rock’n’roll on the TeKiller stage.
Shots of mead (hidromel) and tequila will be distributed throughout the night. There will be contests including a best kiss contest, a beat beard contest, and a best themed-costume contest.

Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (Lapa)
After a successful show earlier this year in May, the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble returns to perform live at Circo Voador tonight. Also known as The Bad Boys of Jazz, the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is an eight-piece group based in Chicago. With sounds that move energetically from jazz, to funk, to rock to hip-hop, the group features only brass players and a percussionist, with the exception of a guitarist and bassist for live shows and recordings. Fanfarra Black Clube will open the night.
