Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight DigitalDubs will welcome very special guest Mad Professor to Cordão da Bola Preta in Centro.
A living legend and the master of modern dub, Mad Professor is a producer and engineer well known for his original compositions and dub remixes.
Born Neil Fraser in 1955 in Guyana and later emigrating to London as a teenager, Mad Professor began his career in 1979. Since then he has released multiple albums and singles and has collaborated with artists including the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry, Massive Attack, Horace Andy, DJ Marcelinho da Lua, and Jah Shaka.
In addition to Mad Professor and Digitaldubs, Jeru Banto, Jota 3 and DJ Ambassodor will perform tonight and VJ Chico Abreu will provide visuals.
This is truly a night not to be missed by dub and reggae fans in Rio de Janeiro.

Tonight Circo Voador will host the Bloco Pra Iaiá, an event that celebrates the horn section of the band Los Hermanos. Former members of Los Hermanos, trumpeter Bubu and trombonist Pimenta will perform live. Also the Hey Ho! Brass Band will perform during the event. Additionally two parties will take place during the night. First there will be the Festa Pista Libre with DJ Thiago Burgos spinning the best of MPB, indie, soul and rock. Tonight IBMEC presents a new edition of the Black and White party at Sacadura 154. This will be the first edition of the party in two years and to celebrate the return there will be an open bar, DJs spinning and Domino’s Pizza.
