Curated by photographer and Professor of Visual Art, Mickele Petruccelli Pucarelli, the exhibition features the works of the Coletivo Singular Plural, a group of seven Rio de Janerio photographers who have been working together since 2012.

The photographers, Andrea Portella, Angela Carvalho, Cybele Longuinho, Cynthia Dorneles, Glacy Möller, Roque Labanca Filho and Vani Ribeiro, spent the previous two years intensively studying and researching the transformations the city of Rio de Janeiro has undergone during its 450-year history and the current changes and challenges the city is facing.

The results are images that capture the chaos, pollution and struggles of the city mixed with its rhythms, charm, poetry, and natural beauty.

Through the displayed works in the exhibition, the collective members hope to challenge viewers’ perspectives, inviting them to celebrate and to question what the city has become and means to them today.
