Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight bands The Highjack and Pessoal da Nasa will perform live at Imperator Centro Cultural João Nogueira in Méier as the venue presents another edition of the Imperator Novo Rock event.
The event is part of the Rio Novo Rock initiative which promotes Rio’s independent music scene and up-and-coming bands in the city.
Formed in Rio in 2013, The Highjack is scheduled to release their debut album later this year. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Gabriel Galled Moura, guitarist Matheus Cecatto, bassist Lucas Rohloff, and drummer Raphael Paci.
Influenced by British rock, grunge and Brazilian music, the band Pessoal da Nasa formed in 2011. They have released one EP and members include lead singer Dado Oliveira, bassist Gui Cavalcanti, and drummer Bruno Castro.
In addition to the live performances tonight, DJ Guzz will spin and VJ Luciano Cian will provide visuals.

Tonight the Top of Pestana venue in Copacabana will host the SuperFuzz Rock Club with band KHAOS performing live. Additionally during the night, DJs Wilson Power, Ricardo Abrahin, Kleber Tuma and Jr. Mahr. will spin. The Top of Pestana, with its location on the rooftop of the Pestana Rio Atlântica hotel facing the famous Copacabana beach is a venue offers a unique and sophisticated environment.
