ImprobableMonday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight Bottle’s Bar in Copacabana will host a very special edition of the Improable Comedy Nights series. The show will be a send-off for Rio’s Queen of Comedy and the series’ creator Kim Levone.

Levone is the founder of Improbable Comedy and during her time in Brazil, she produced the first English Stand Up comedy nights in both Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. She was named one the of Rio de Janeiro’s 10 Most Interesting Gringos by The Rio Times in 2014.

Performing tonight in celebration of Levone and her contributions to the comedy scene, will be Ulisses Mattos, Pedro Pan, Lucas Hoffman, Pedro Parga Bastos, Michelle Paz, Mike Royster and Phillip Lee. Additionally Michelle Lenzen will serve as emcee during the night.

Entry will be R$30 with a free caipirinha included in the fee and R$20 with your name on the friend’s list (to be added send your names to improbablecomedy(at)gmail.com).

A full house is expected, so it is best to arrive as early as possible. Doors will open at 8PM and show will begin at 9PM.

Backstreet Boys (Barra da Tijuca)
Tonight, veteran boy band, Backstreet Boys will perform the first of two scheduled shows in Citibank Hall in Barra da Tijuca. The five Backstreet Boys, A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell will return to Rio on the 11th. Both shows are sold-out.

Stand Up Comedy (Copacabana)
Tonight, comedians Ulisses Mattos, Pedro Pan, Lucas Hoffman, Pedro Parga Bastos, Michelle Paz, Mike Royster and Phillip Lee, led by emcee Michelle Lenzen, will bid farewell to the Rio’s Queen of Comedy and founder of Improbable Comedy, Kim Levone. It promises to be a very special edition of the events that are always a great night out and full of laughter and fun for all.

Rio Moonday Boat Party (Glória)
The Rio Moonday Boat Party is back tonight with neon paint and DJs to help you glow while dancing in the moonlight this Monday. Boarding will begin at 11PM at the Marina da Glória There will be welcome shots for guys until 11:30PM and an open bar of vodka, beer and soft drinks for girls until 12AM, when the boat departs. The boat will then make its way around Guanabara Bay for four hours with DJs Guga Fernandez and Angola spinning the best of world music, funk, house and reggaeton.

Lunes Sessions @ Leviano (Lapa)
On Monday nights in June, the Leviano bar in Lapa is presenting Lunes Sessions with band Clandestinos, led by singer-songwriter Udi Fagundes, performing their covers of works by Manu Chao, Chico Science, Jorge Benjor, and Bob Marley as well as original arrangements of the best of reggae, dub, ska, and hip-hop.

Roda de Samba Pedra do Sal (Gamboa)
Weather permitting, the famous roda de samba returns to Pedra do Sal tonight. It’s a classic roda de samba with an emphasis on the music’s African roots. The weekly event is considered by many to be one of the most authentic rodas de samba in the city.

Roda de Samba with Rixxa (Lapa)
For more dancing and singing, head to Lapa’s Carioca da Gema tonight. The venue will come alive at 7:30PM with singer and guitarist Márcia Guedes starting off the night. Then at 9:30PM it’s time for three hours of live samba provided by vocalist Rixxa accompanied by brilliant percussionists and members of the Zeca Pagodinho band.
