duoSunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s Sunday and that means it’s time to end your weekend with the best of house and electro-pop at the Duo party in Gávea’s 00 (Zero Zero) club.

Tonight the party is celebrating its eight year anniversary with things beginning early, as always, at 5PM and continuing through Monday morning until 5AM.

DJs Alan Passos and Babi will start off the party by spinning outside on the deck and DJs Miss Klauss, João Angelo, Diego Valente, Rafael Calvente, Leo Gattuso and Rody will follow by spinning inside until sunrise.

El Miraculoso Samba Jazz (Praia Vermelha)
Today the group El Miraculoso Samba Jazz returns to Urca present a free outdoor performance at Praia Vermelha. The group consists of trombonist Henrique Vaz, bassist Marcos Luz, drummer Gabriel Barbosa and guitarist Jefferson Moreira

Lapalê Festival (Lapa)
Celebrating literature and the Rio neighborhood of Lapa, the Lapalê Festival continues its first edition today. Events include a book fair, debates, live music, and film screenings.

Praça Cardeal Câmara, Fundição Progresso, Semente, Cinema Nosso, and various locations in Lapa.
Entrance: Most events are free. Film screenings are R$2 for each show and entry for some performances are R$30. See the complete program for more information.

Duo (Gávea)
The Duo party is back tonight in Gávea’s chic 00 (Zero Zero) club. DJs Alan Passos, Babi, Miss Klauss, João Angelo, Diego Valente, Rafael Calvente, Leo Gattuso and Rody will keep the music going from 5PM to 5AM on Monday morning.

Roda de Samba and Soccer (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue streams live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Samba Di Buteco playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. DJ Mukato will also spin during the night.

Rogê (Lapa)
It’s time to dance as singer-songwriter Rogê returns for his weekly show at Lapa’s Carioca de Gema. The lively up-and-coming performer will present his own compositions as well as covers of works by Jorge, Djavan, and Jorge Benjor, among others.

Shenanigan’s (Ipanema)
