imaginedragonsThursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Touring in support of their second album entitled, Smoke + Mirrors, the American band Imagine Dragons returns to Rio de Janeiro tonight to perform live in Citibank Hall in Barra da Tijuca.

Currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, the band was formed in 2008, by lead vocalist Dan Reynolds with guitarist Wayne Sermon, and drummer Andrew Tolman. Current members are Reynolds and Sermon with bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman.

The quartet is considered by many to be one of the best current rock bands. They are well known for their singles which include “I Bet My Life,” “Gold”, “Shots”, “It’s Time”,”Demons“, and “Radioactive.”

Satanique Samba Trio (Lapa)
Tonight Quintavant Qtv presents the Satanique Samba Trio performing live at Audio Rebel in Botafogo. Although their name includes “trio” the group is actually a sextet. They are known for mixing samba, bossa nova, pagoda and forró with experimental sounds and tonight they will release their newest album entitled, “Mó Bad,” on vinyl.

American rock band Imagine Dragons returns to Rio de Janeiro’s Citibank Hall to perform live tonight.

Inflamável featuring Nêga (Copacabana)
Tonight it’s time again for the best of indie pop, rock, and hip-hop as Fosfobox in Copacabana hosts the Inflamável and Nêga parties. The venue is celebrating its 11th anniversary with events throughout the week and weekend. During the night tonight, DJs Bub, Bgolls Incrível, and Igor Boechat will spin alternative, indie pop, indie rock, déli-pop, electro-pop and hits on the Inflamável stage while DJ Rafa Maia spins r&b, hip-hop, and funk-pop on the Nêga stage.

Veneno (Botafogo)
The Veneno party returns to Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz tonight. For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio. Tonight will be no exception as DJs Tulio Araujo and Beto Artista will spin the best of rock and pop on the first floor while the So High party take over second floor.

Forró and Salsa Leviano (Lapa)
Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar it’s time to dance as the group Mano a Mano starts things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor, while on the second floor the weekly Forró Leviano party will present a live performance by singer Marcelo Mimoso. Additionally,DJ Angolano will spin salsa and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró during the night.
