Stand-Up ComedyMonday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Stand-up comedy is back with a new day and location. Presented by Improbable Comedy, the events are now taking place on Mondays every two weeks at Bottle’s Bar in Copacabana.

Tonight, two Americans and four Brazilian comedians will perform. Fans of Amy Bibeau should make sure to attend, as it will be her last show in Brazil. Additionally during the night, comedians Pedro Parga Bastos, Pedro Pan, Ulisses Mattos and Luisa Clasen will perform.

All are welcome to what promises to be a great night of laughs. Entry to the event will be R$25 and will include a free caipirinha.

Stand-Up Comedy (Copacabana)
Improbable Comedy’s stand-up comedy nights are back with a new day and location. Now taking place on Mondays every two weeks at Bottle’s Bar in Copacabana, the events are great nights for laughs with locals and expats. All are welcome. Two Americans and four Brazilians will perform tonight. Entry fee includes a free caipirinha.

Reggae @ Leviano (Lapa)
On Monday nights in March, the Leviano Bar in Lapa is hosting the Reggae party. During the weekly shows the band Sessions, led by singer-songwriter Udi Fagundes, will perform the works of Manu Chao, Chico Science, Jorge Benjor, Bob Marley as well as the best of dub, ska, hip-hop, and reggae.

Rio Boat Club (Marina da Glória)
A two-story boat turns into a nightclub complete with top DJs and a happy hour with two for one drinks for men and free drinks for women before midnight. Once the cruise starts, there are some amazing views to take in as the boat travels around Guanabara Bay.

MÚSICA BRASILEIRA:

Roda de Samba Pedra do Sal (Gamboa)
Weather permitting, classic roda de samba with an emphasis on the music’s African roots will return to Pedra do Sal tonight. The weekly event is considered by many to be one of the most authentic rodas de samba in the city. Be sure to check their Facebook page for cancelations due to rain before heading out to the event.

Roda de Samba with Rixxa (Lapa)
For dancing and singing indoors, head to Lapa’s Carioca da Gema tonight. The venue will come alive at 7:30PM with singer and guitarist Pedro Holanda starting off the night. Then at 9:30PM it’s time for three hours of live samba provided by vocalist Rixxa accompanied by brilliant percussionists and members of the Zeca Pagodinho band.

Mab’s Restaurant and Bar (Copacabana)
This American-owned restaurant and bar on Copacabana Beach is a great place for food, drinks and entertainment. Every night, Tony Boka is performing live from 8PM until midnight. Boka is known for his varied repertoire that always pleases the crowd.
