Copa-FunWednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s time again for the best of hip-hop, funk, and Latin rhythms as the Copa Funk Party returns to Fosfobox in Copacabana tonight.

This weekly event at the venue is produced by Bem Brasil Entretenimento and features DJ Haron Dufau spinning throughout the night.

Promotions include unlimited caipifrutas from 11PM to 12AM and two for one beers until midnight.

Launch of “Em Foto,” the photos of Ratão Diniz at Casa Doros(Botafogo)
At 6PM tonight, “Em Foto” a book of the collected works by Rio photographer, Ratão Diniz, will launch at Casa Doros in Botafogo. The book consists of more than two hundred photographs, taken in the last ten years and separated into four themes: favela, graffiti, popular celebrations/holidays, and the interior of Brazil. Diniz is well known for his photography that captures, from a unique perspective, the people and places in both Rio and greater Brazil.

Karaokê Indie (Botafogo)
Karaokê Indie is back at Casa da Matriz in Botafogo tonight with eight hours of singing and great promotions including two for one on five drinks: caipirinha, caipivodka, Hi-Fi, Cuba Livre and Mojito. Additionally, free shots of Chuva cachaça will be distributed throughout the night. With thousands of songs on their menus, there is always something to sing about during this weekly party.

Lu Fogaça and Trio (Gamboa)
Tonight at Trapiche Gamboa it’s time for a roda de samba with Brazilian singer-songwriter Lu Fogaça and Trio. The group will blend modern music with samba, forró and MPB. They are well known for their reinterpretations of works by João Nogueira, João Bosco, Baden Powell, Vinicius de Moraes, Chico Buarque and Luiz Melodia, among others.

Cordão do Bola Preta and Henrique Cazes (Centro)
Henrique Cazes returns to start the night at Centro’s Rio Scenarium at 7:30PM with popular samba. The group Cordão do Bola Preta will follow with more samba at 10:30PM.

Marcelle Motta and Pedro Holanda (Lapa)
Singer and guitarist Pedro Holanda will start things off tonight at 7:30PM at Carioca da Gema and singer Marcelle Motta will follow at 9:30PM with a versatile repertoire.

On Wednesday nights in March the Baile Da Tchuguderia party at Lapa’s Leviano bar is celebrating new music in Rio. Event week Angelo B, Udi Fagundes and Cláudio Costa of the band Gabriel Pensador will play live and welcome a special guest. DJ Chicote will also spin during the night.
