Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s time again for the Veneno party tonight at Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz. For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio.
Tonight will be no exception as DJs Tulio and Beto Artista will spin the best of rock and pop on the first floor while the Holiday party takes over the second floor.

Tonight Largo das Artes will host “SYNC,” the closing event of the special Carnival edition of their International Artist Residency Program. During the night, artists Alina Teodorescu (ROM / UK), Luka Moncaleano (ITA) and Marta Ferracin (ITA / AUS) will present pieces they created during their time in the city. The works will include paintings, photography, videos, performances and installations.

Anderson Vaz will kick off the live music tonight at Carioca da Gema at 8:30PM.Then, composer and singer Toninho Geraes will follow at 10:30PM. Geraes has composed for artists including Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho and during his show tonight he will sing their hits, as well as his own compositions. Additionally, he will reinterpret the works of Moacyr Luz, Paulinho da Viola, and Chico Buarque, among others.

Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar it’s time to dance as the group Mano a Mano starts things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor, while on the second floor the weekly Forró Leviano party will present a live performance by Marcelo Mimoso.
