#HYpeSunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – After two successful editions, the Hype Free Market returns to Barra da Tijuca today from 12PM to 9PM for a special Christmas edition.

With over 160 exhibitors, the fair combines the best of both new fashion and brands in Rio with quality vintage and used goods from thrift shops and private sellers.

Created by Robert Guimarães and Fernando Molinari, the two men behind the popular monthly fair, Babilônia Feira Hype, the Hype Free Market will take place once again today on the second floor of the Shopping Città America.

Exhibitors and merchandise during this edition will include: womenswear designers, Bezzoura, Maria Chris and Fryda; menswear designers Folk; lingerie by Suti; unisex t-shirt designers Viva!; bikinis by Litori and BKN Bikinis; and home decor by Porcelanas Lidia Quaresma, Andrea Pires Arte Luminárias, and 704 Home, among others.

Admission to the fair is free.

Feijoada do Cosme Velho with Galocantô (Cosme Velho)
The Cosme Velho Feijoada brings the best of samba, soccer (football) cold beer, caipirinha and feijoada to Zona Sul (South Zone) today from 12PM to 10PM. The group Galocantô will perform live and and waiter service will be provided during the event.

Hype Free Market (Barra da Tijuca )
It’s time again to shop for the best up-and-coming brands and quality vintage and used goods in Rio. The creators of the popular Babilônia Feira Hype, are back to present the Christmas edition of the Hype Free Market today in Barra da Tijuca. Approximately one hundred exhibitors and over sixty private sellers will fill the second floor of the Shopping Città America from 2PM to 10PM.

Sundae Tracks (Botafogo)
The Sundae Tracks party with DJ Melvin is back again at Casa da Matriz in Botafogo and going strong weekly during the summer season. Tonight, on the first floor DJ Melvin will deliver the best of indie rock and pop and the second floor will host the weekly guest DJs.

Nêga (Copacabana)
Celebrating divas, hip-hop and rap, the Nêga party returns to Fosfobox in Copacabana tonight. DJs Rafa Maia, Brian Mello and Cat B. will spin the best of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Azealia Banks,Ciara, Kanye West and more. Additionally, there will be an open bar with beer, tequila, vodka, energy drinks and water.

Duo (Gávea)
It’s Sunday and that means it’s time to end your weekend with the best of house and electro pop at Duo in Gávea’s 00 (Zero Zero). The party begins early at 5PM and continues in the chic indoor/outdoor venue until 5AM. Things usually get started on the outdoor deck with DJs Fabiano Pax and Marcia Bertonni and then gradually shifts inside where DJs Mor Rafael Calvente and Dri Toscano usually spin. The weekly event is also known to host special guest DJs.

Rogê (Lapa)
It’s time to dance as singer-songwriter Rogê returns for his weekly show at Lapa’s Carioca de Gema. The lively up-and-coming performer will present his own compositions as well as covers of works by Jorge, Djavan, and Jorge Benjor, among others.

Roda de Samba and Soccer (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Samba Di Buteco playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. DJ Mukato will also spinning during the night.

Saloon 79 (Botafogo)
Saloon 79 provides a unique environment for drinking, eating and rocking out. The fun indoor decor creates a great vibe and this original rocker bar gets loud at night with live bands.

Bar Urca (Urca)
If you have never been to Bar Urca on a Sunday afternoon to drink beers and eat salgados while watching the sunset, you are missing a big part of what it means to be a Carioca. This simple establishment on the bayside has been a hit since 1939.

Mab’s Restaurant and Bar (Copacabana)
This American-owned restaurant and bar on Copacabana Beach is a great place for food and drinks. Additionally, every Sunday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, Tony Boka performs live from 8PM until midnight. Boka is known for his varied repertoire that always pleases the crowd.
