Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight at Largo das Artes in Centro, the final exhibition of the Iran-Rio Art Connection will open at 7PM.
The exhibition will feature the works of Iranian artists; Shadi Ghadirian, Farnaz Jahanbin, Amin Aghaei and Ali Zanjani. The four young artists spent a month in residency at Largo das Artes and this exhibit will showcase their work while in the city.
Additionally, during the event tonight, artist and singer Farnaz Jahanbin will present a concert of traditional Persian music. Pianist Tomas Gonzaga will be accompany Jahanbin during the show.
The concert and the exhibition are open to the public and entry to the event is free.
After the opening tonight, the exhibition will run through October 31st.

Tonight La Passion Club in Glória will host this week’s edition of the We Love Open Bar party. DJ Rodrigo Mattos and Convidados will spin the best of house, hip hop, and funk and the open bar will feature Antarctica beer, vodka, Hi-fi, Blue Hawaii, Malibu, Sex on the Beach, Cuba Libre, Lagoa Azul, water and sodas until 4AM. At 8:30PM, the band Samba Urbano will start the night off at Lapa’s Carioca da Gema. Then, singer-songwriter Toninho Geraes will follow at 10:30PM. Geraes has composed for artists including Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho and during his show tonight, he will sing their hits, as well as his own compositions. Additionally, he will reinterpret the works of Moacyr Luz, Paulinho da Viola, and Chico Buarque, among others.
