Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Celebrating a sixth anniversary, Paradiso and Nugrooves Rio will take over Centro’s La Paz Club tonight. Joining the party will be very special guest DJ, Dave Rowntree, drummer for the UK rock band Blur.
Rowntree, also co-author of some of Blur’s most popular songs, including; “Song 2”, “Coffee & TV”, “Girls & Boys” and “Parklife,” makes a stop in Rio tonight as part of an ongoing DJ set tour of Brazil.
Also taking to the decks on the seocond floor of the venue tonight to spin the best of rock, indie, brit pop, and electro-rock will be Tito Figueiredo and Edinho.
It will be all about house, deep house, nu soul and nu jazz on the first floor as DJs Joca Vidal and Gustavo Magoo spin. DJ David Tabalipa will also throw down only records, for a 100% vinyl set, during the event.

Tonight the MOO party presents a special Discoland edition as part of Art Rua 2014. Taking place at Centro Cultural Ação da Cidadania in Gamboa beginning at 10PM, special guest, Argentinian musician and DJ Ana Helder will perform and spin. DJs Diogo Reis, Dionysus Jr., and Badenov will also take to the decks during the night.

The fourth edition of the modern and contemporary art fair, ArtRio continues today, beginning at 1PM. Tonight its all about visuals as the #FolkatruaVJs celebrate four years and take over Copacabana’s Fosfobox.
