Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight famous Brazilian jazz and bossa nova pianist João Donato celebrates his 80th birthday at Lapa’s Circo Voador.
Joining Donato to celebrate will be very special guests BNegão, Caetano Veloso, Donatinho, Jaques Morelenbaum, Kassin, Leny Andrade, Luisa Maita, Luiz Melodia, Marcos Valle, Mihay, Paula Morelenbaum, Shaneihu (Yawanawá) and Wanda Sá. DJ Marcelinho da Lua will also spin during the party.
Donato, well known for his work with greats including Tom Jobim, João Gilberto and Astrud Gilberto, among others, will also present his latest CD entitled, Live Jazz In Rio, during the event.
