Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Casa da Matriz’s weekly Veneno events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio for over ten years.
Tonight is no exception as DJs Tulio and Melvin will spin rock and pop on the first floor, while DJ Peique takes over the decks on the second floor delivering the best of pop, rock, eletronica, funk, mashups, remixes and more as part of the Variada! party.

At 8:30 PM, the band Samba Urbano starts the night off at Lapa’s Carioca da Gema. Composer and singer Toninho Geraes will follow at 11PM. Geraes has composed for artists including Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho and during his show tonight, he will sing their hits, as well as his own compositions.
