FIFA Fan FestFriday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Watch the two 2014 World Cup quarter-final matches being played today, including the Brazil match against Colombia at 5PM, live on Copacabana beach at the FIFA Fan Fest in Rio.

The 31,000 m² area on the beach located between the streets of Princesa Isabel and Duvivier houses a large screen to view the matches broadcast live at 1PM and 5PM today. There is also a stage for entertainers that, during the tournament, will include; Sorriso Maroto, Dudu Nobre, Arlindo Cruz, Anitta, Sandra de Sá, Bom Gosto, Suvaco de Cristo, Cordão da Bola Preta, Fogo e Paixão, Bloco Brasil, Empolga às Nove, and Blitz.

The Fan Fest area will open two hours before the first match of the day and close at 10PM. Capacity for the area is 20,000. Entry is free and entrance will be granted according to order of arrival.

FIFA Fan Fest (Copacabana)
Watch two of the 2014 World Cup quarter-finals, including the Brazil match against Colombia at 5PM, live on Copacabana beach today at the FIFA Fan Fest in Rio. Gávea’s chic club 00 (Zero Zero) will host a World Cup viewing party today, playing the Brazil vs. Colombia quater-final match live. DJs will also spin during the event.

Golearte (Lapa)
Today Lapa’s Circo Voador hosts the the third edition of the Golearte World Cup viewing parties. The quarter-final match between Brazil and Colombia will be broadcast live on a large screen in the venue. Beers will be dose dupla (2-for-1) for five minutes after every Brazilian goal. DJs will also spin following the match. Gates open two hours before the match.

La Passion After Copa – Night and Day Party (Glória)
La Passion Club in Glória will also host a viewing party of the 5PM World Cup quarter-final match between Brazil and Colombia. There will be a Premium Open Bar with vodka, hi-fi, Blue Hawaii, beer, Malibu, sex on the beach, Cuba Libre, Blue Lagoon, water and soda. DJs Rodrigo Mattos, Kymbo and Marcio Rocha will spin hip hop and various beats before and after the match.

Mab’s Restaurant and Bar (Copacabana)
During the World Cup, Mab’s is showing all of the matches live on televisions located both inside the restaurant and in the outdoor dining section. A DJ also spins after the matches. Mab’s an American-owned beachfront restaurant and bar located on Copacabana Beach, directly across from the FIFA Fan Fest.

International Crush the Party Deluxe (Botafogo)
Tonight Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz hosts a U.S.A. themed edition of the Crush, the Party! in celebration of the Fourth of July, American Independence Day. DJs at the first stage will spin a set of 100% pop punk including songs from the American bands; Green Day, MxPx, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, Saves the Day and Coheed and Cambria, The Academy Is…, and Paramore, among others. At the venue’s second stage, DJs will spin a mix of pop, hip hop, electro, and house.

Indie Club (Centro)
Centro’s La Paz also celebrates the Fourth of July, tonight as hosts the Indie Club party with two stages of DJs. It’s all about indie rock, indie pop and alternative rock on the first stage with DJs Bruno Ambrozi, Thiago Burgos and Larissa Conforto, while on the second stage, DJs Tomás Tróia, Sal and Dorly will spin the best of synthpop, remixes, trap, and bass. All night promotions for the event include; three Antarctica beers for R$15, three Heinekens for R$20, and two Desperado beers for R$10. Caipirinhas and caipivodkas will also be dose dupla (2-for-1) until 1AM.

Bootleg (Copacabana)
Tonight the Bootleg party brings the best of Brazilian underground house and techo to Copacabana’s Fosfobox. DJs Volkoder, Leo Janeiro, Bruce Leroys, Zuim, and Bed & Breakfast will spin throughout the night in the venue’s basement until 8AM. Additionally tonight at the venue’s the fosfobar, the Festa Fluxo will host Paulo Ziliotto music, and DJs Sean Diss and SkullB.

Brazilian Wax with Julio and Sheik ‘n’ Beik (Copacabana)
Copacabana’s increasingly popular club Cave hosts the Brazilian Wax party tonight with special guests, DJ Julio and the Sheik ‘n’ Beik collective from Brooklyn, NY. Rio electronic music scene pioneer DJ Meme will also take to the decks during the party, as will DJs Pedro Piu and Raphael Brick.

Over.Dose “Velho Oeste”/”Old West” (Centro)
Tonight it’s time for a trip to the Old West complete with cowboys, saloons and whiskey as Centro’s Espaço Acústica hosts the “Velho Oeste” (Old West) edition of the Over.Dose party. There will be a themed photo stand to help party-goers and cowboys commemorate the event and free shots of whiskey will be given to first one hundred attendees. Tequila shots will also be given out throughout the night and there will be a tequila hunt for “missing shots” hidden around the venue. Event promotions include 2-for-1 Budweisers for R$10. DJs Felipe Malfoy, Marcelo Haubrich, REBECCA FOXX and Vinny will be on hand to spin the best of pop, funk, hits and mashups, while DJs Thiago Halleck and Ian Gar6 will spin the best of alternative rock, rock and indie rock at the venue’s second stage.
