Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s Portuguese/English language exchange night at the Lapa Irish Pub.
Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired up with native Portuguese speaker at tables. The pairs will then speak English for five minutes followed by Portuguese for five minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and a new conversation partner.
It’s R$10 to participate and the cost includes free food. Happy Hour at the Lapa Irish Pub also lasts until 8PM with special weekly drink promotions. The language exchange is open to all levels of speakers. It’s a fun, educational event and a great opportunity to mix and mingle with native speakers of both English and Portuguese.

American post-hardcore rock quintet A Day to Remember will play tonight at Circo Voador in Lapa. Formed in 2003 in Ocala, Florida the band has released five studio albums and is well known for their songs; “If It Means A lot To You”, “All I Want”, and “Have Faith in Me”.
