Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Brazilian singer-songwriter Paula Fernandes will bring the best of sertanejo (Brazilian country) and MPB (Popular Brazilain Music) to Barra Music in Jacarepagua tonight. Fernandes is well known for her songs that include; “Eu Sem Você“, “Pássaro De Fogo“, and “Pra Você.”
The Minas Gerais native has released four full-length studio albums. Her most recent release entitled, Meus Encantos, sold over one million copies in Brazil and was certified Diamond by the Brazilian Association of Record Producers (ABPD).
Her two live albums; 2011’s Paula Fernandes: Ao Vivo and 2013’s Multishow Ao Vivo: Um Ser Amor, saw even greater success, selling a combined six million copies in Brazil to date.
Fernandes has also performed live with big names in the international scene, including, American Country music singer Taylor Swift. For fans of sertanejo (Brazilian country), this is a not-to-be-missed night.
