Luxury on Display at Rio Boat Show 2014: Daily

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Stretching out across thirty thousand square meters in Rio de Janeiro’s scenic Marina da Glória, one of the city’s recreational ports, the 17th edition of the Rio Boat Show 2014 continues dazzling the public with luxurious boats today, Sunday, April 13th.

Opened on April 9th and running through Tuesday, April 15th, the show returns to Marina da Glória, after spending two years at Rio’s Pier Mauá in the city’s downtown area.

Featuring, one hundred national and international exhibitors, the show is divided into different sectors, such as: nautical shopping, shops, engines, accessories and aquatic bikes, national construction and shipyards and importers. Sixty boats are presented on the water with an additional 120 displayed across the marina.

One notable piece of the show is the Benetti Delfino 93, an Italian superyacht. On sale for R$33 million and christened the “Zaphira,” it is one of only four manufactured worldwide. This is the first time the luxurious yacht is displayed to Brazilian audiences.

In addition to expensive yachts and boats, Rio Boat Show 2014 will also feature daily lectures related to boating. Today, the theme is “Diving: Underwater Apnea and Photography.” Champion underwater fisherman, Diego Santiago, starts the evening off at 7PM with his talk: “Risks in Underwater Fishing.” Photographer Ary Amarante follows at 8:30 PM with “Underwater Photography: Problems and Techniques.”

An estimated 43,000 visitors are expected to visit the boats and listen to experts talk on water-related activities during the even-day expo. Rio Boat Show 2014 will draw to a close on Tuesday, April 15th.
