Saturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – RUN VDG is back for their first event of the new year at Casa Alto Vidigal, on the very top of the Vidigal mountain. The open air venue has undergone a slew of changes over recent months and now stands bigger and badder than ever before. With an extended dance floor, two extra levels, plus a new sound system, lighting, bar area and even and a snazzy new deck, Alto Vidigal is one of Rio’s premiere party venues.
Resident DJ and San Francisco transplant Mike Frugaletti welcomes two international DJs to RUN tonight. Swiss DJ and producer Agnès is known for his usual deep, dubbed-out minimal techno productions and likes to explore house-influenced rhythms and textures. Agnès runs the Geneva-based label Sthlmaudio Recording. Eddie Leader, from England, was first known as part of the trio Slum Science. He has tracks released on Robsoul, Plastic City and his own imprint Hudd Traxx. The music tonight will be a special taste of diverse electronica like Rio hasn’t see before.

Gal Costa peforms tonight at Circo Voador to commemorate her new album done with partner Caetano Veloso and Morena. Gal will also be accompanied on stage by Domenico Lancellotti on drums and MPC, Pedro Baby on electric and acoustic guitar and Bruno Di Lullo on bass. They will be mixing up electronic sounds with mpb.
