RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – One of Rio’s premier hotel associations, the Windsor Group, reopened their luxury Copacabana hotel last month, the Windsor Miramar. After two years of construction, highlights from the renovation include a rooftop pool, fifty new rooms, and a high-end restaurant.

The newly reopened high-rise offers luxury rooms and beachfront views in one of the most sought-after tourist locations in Brazil, Rio’s “posto 6” on Copacabana Beach.

The location combined with brand new amenities, restaurant and top service, makes this hotel an excellent option for visitors to the Cidade Maravilhosa.

“The hotel changed completely after the reform. We don’t even call it a reform, we say it was reconstructed from the bones. The address is the only thing that remains the same,” says Paulo Marcos, marketing director for the Windsor Group.

The top floor is one of the renovation’s gems – now with a fitness center, spa, bar and a infinity pool overlooking the 4 km stretch of Copacabana Beach. The fitness center is fully flush with a range of exercise equipment and there is also a sauna and steam room for relaxation after a long day of work or sightseeing.

Located beachfront on Copacabana’s Avenida Atlântica, many guests will likely want to spend some time on the iconic beach. Therefore, the Windsor Miramar offers a courtesy beach service and sets up towels, chairs and umbrellas for guests.

“It is a brand new hotel, with service that is intended to be one of the best in Rio. Beautiful rooms with sensational views of Copacabana and a restaurant headed by chef Paulo Góes,” said Marcos.

“Restaurante Sá” is the hotel’s new gourmet eatery, and offers contemporary cuisine with a strong Mediterranean influence in a sophisticated environment.

With a capacity for 150 seats, Restuarante Sá has a daily breakfast buffet, and lunch and dinner served a la carte. Room service from the restaurant is offered 24 hours a day and also has service to the lobby bar and the rooftop pool bar.

In addition, for those traveling with pets, the Windsor Miramar is pet-friendly and offers special services for animals. Blankets and other pet accessories and personalized food dishes are available.

Copacabana is one of Rio’s most famous neighborhoods, especially for visitors and will be even more in demand as one of the four sites of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The enormous white-sand beach, lined with “kiosks” (small beachfront bars and restaurants) make Copacabana one of the world’s most popular tourist destination for a good reason.

Copacabana Beach is also the sight to some of Rio’s biggest parties – including the New Years Eve fireworks show and beach concerts (also known as “reveillon”) and some of the biggest Carnival bloco parties. The hotel is also located only ten minutes walking from one of Rio’s other iconic beaches – Ipanema.

The Windsor Miramar is part of the Windsor Hotel Group. The group boasts twelve luxury hotels throughout Rio de Janeiro, in a diverse range of neighborhoods, including Copacabana, Flamengo, Barra da Tijuca and Centro.

The Windsor Miramar is also offering a promotion to celebrate their reopening. Until August 31st, all guests will receive both early check-in and late check-out free of charge.
