Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Vinyl purists will be glad to know that some of Rio’s top hip hop talents are getting together for a night of musical education at Fosfobox in Copacabana. The popular underground venue will be hosting V.U.- Vinyl United.
Vinyl was the format that DJs played from the Seventies well into the early 2000’s, before CDs and computer software such as Traktor or Serato came into play. Since then vinyl has taken a backseat to technology. There are those, however, who feel that the sound of a needle on a vinyl record can not be matched. Tonight that statement will be put to the test with Rio’s own DJ Pachu, Saci and Lulinha from Eletrobase, and DJ Saddame.
