Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The band Soul Brother funks up the stage tonight at Studio RJ in Arpoador. The band, which formed in 2005 has earned themselves a nice legion of fans from Recreio, Barra da Tijuca, Jacarepaguá, Vargens, Barra and Pedra de Guaratiba, consisting of beautiful people with great taste for good music and having a good time.
Soul Brother essentially pays homage to the icons of pop-rock, surf music, reggae and forro, revisiting songs from O Rappa, Natiruts, Sublime, Red Hot, Ben Harper, Bob Marley, among others. Due to their success achieved through hard work, dedication and talent, Soul Brother has had the opportunity to open at major concerts, such as Armandinho at Citibank Hall, Baia at Circo Voador and more. Superstar singer and composer Caetano Veloso returns to Circo Voador with his new tour Abraçaço. Caetano Veloso first became known for his participation in the Brazilian musical movement, Tropicalismo, which encompassed theatre, poetry and music in the 1960’s, during the Brazilian military dictatorship. He has remained a constant creative influence and best-selling performing artist and composer ever since.
