Vivo Open Air Outdoor Cinema 2012: Daily

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – After a successful run in São Paulo, the Vivo Open Air 2012 festival has arrived in Rio this week celebrating its 10th anniversary. The festival’s program includes concerts, parties and outdoor films, all of which will be hosted at The Jockey Club in Jardim Botânico.

Festival goers can look forward to the largest outdoor movie screen in the world (325ft²) which will showcase classics such as Pulp Fiction, Scarface, and The Godfather.

The weather resistant screen is accompanied by a powerful sound system, giving the audience an all round cinema experience while have having the opportunity to enjoy the night underneath the open sky.

The festival offers plenty for children too. Ghostbusters, Back To The Future and the much anticipated premier of the kids movie Zarafa have all been included in the program.

Uma História de Amor e Fúria (A Tale of Love and Fury), an animation by Luiz Bolognesi, the story is about an immortal hero and a woman he fell in love with six hundred years before.

The animation marks the pinnacle points in Brazilian history; colonization, slavery and the military regime, it then skips forward to 2096 where the world is at war over water.

The concerts will include the likes of Lulu Santos, English singer Jesuton and well known Carioca group Nova Lapa Jazz. DJs will also there to keep the parties pumping through the night. Tickets can be bought on the festival’s website.
