The Logistics Directorate of Carabineros de Chile awarded Vespek Vehículos Especiales y Automotores Gildemeister SpA the acquisition of 500 SUV 4×2 with lockers, 150 SUV 4×4 with lockers, 115 SUV 4×4 without lockers, 141 radio patrol cars without a locker, 126 AP vans and 22 mobile barracks for an estimated amount of US$42.8 million.
As Infodefensa.com exclusively published, the institution opened on December 28, 2022, on the Public Market portal a tender for 1,054 police vehicles as part of stage III of the program to replace the Carabineros de Chile‘s operational fleet in the different regions of the country.
The Logistics Directorate closed the process on January 31, 2023, with the delivery of the proposals submitted by the companies Automotores Gildemeister SpA, Conversiones San José (Vespek Vehículos Especiales), Grisolia y Compañía Limitada, and Kovacs SpA.
The Evaluation Commission decided to award the purchase of 4×2 SUVs with a locker, radio patrol cars without a locker, AP vans and mobile barracks to Vespek Vehículos Especiales and 4×4 SUVs with a locker and 4×4 SUVs without a locker to Automotores Gildemeister SpA for obtaining the highest total percentage in the respective line of the tender.
TOYOTA, NISSAN, HYUNDAI, FORD AND CITROËN
Vespek will supply 500 SUVs with a Toyota Corolla Cross SEG 4×2 for an estimated unit price of US$38,000, a total of approximately US$19.4 million, and a delivery period of 300 calendar days, and 141 Nissan New Versa Sense CVT radio patrol cars without a locker for an estimated unit price of US$29,000, a total of approximately US$4.2 million and a delivery period of 300 calendar days.
The company will also supply Carabineros de Chile with 126 Ford Ranger XLT AT AP vans for an estimated unit value of US$56,000, a total of approximately US$7.1 million and a delivery period of 75 calendar days, and 22 Citroën L2H mobile barracks for a unit price of US$51,000, a total of approximately US$1.1 million and a delivery period of 90 calendar days.
Automotive Gildemeister will provide the institution with 150 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.5 TM AT 4WD 4×4 SUVs with a brig for an estimated unit value of US$42,000, a total estimated price of US$6.3 million and a delivery time of 224 calendar days; and 115 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.5 AT 4WD FL 4×4 SUVs without a brig for an estimated unit value of US$41,000, a total estimated price of US$4.7 million and a delivery time of 224 calendar days.
