Brazil once again requires visas from tourists from the US, Australia, Canada, and Japan

The Brazilian government has made official the resumption of visa requirements for tourists from the United States, Australia, Canada, and Japan.

Decree 11,515 was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday (3/5) and revoked a previous decision by the Jair Bolsonaro government.

The new rule goes into effect on October 1, 2023.

Decree 9,731 of March 16, 2019, unilaterally waived the visa requirement for tourists from these four countries for stays of up to 90 days, extendable for an equal period.
