Drone use diversifies and includes semen transport on Brazil’s farms

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Startups are investing in the development and certification of new drones to expand the use of these vehicles in agribusiness, the inspection of large assets and delivery of goods.

In May, BRF conducted a pilot flight in Toledo (PR) to test the transportation of porcine semen from the production center to the location where sows are kept that serve as matrices for animal production.

Guilherme Brandt, BRF's Agribusiness director, says that the technology's role is to prevent people from entering the farm and thereby reduce contamination risks. It can also speed up the distribution . . .
