Deaths from Covid-19 in São Paulo Increase 81.7 Percent in One Week

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The state of São Paulo recorded an 81.7 percent increase in coronavirus deaths in the past week. On Wednesday, April 15th, São Paulo State recorded 778 deaths, whereas on Wednesday, April 8th, there were 428 fatal victims.

The cumulative number since the first case was confirmed in São Paulo on February 25th, is now higher than the total number of H1N1 flu victims in 2009, the first year of that epidemic. There were 585 deaths from this type of viral influenza, out of a total of 8,663 cases.
